Cultivating Success

Cassie Bacon

is an associate with Demeter Communications. She is a talented designer and photographer. While in college, she formed Rural Route Creations, a company she began to assist livestock producers with their marketing.

As a student at Oklahoma State University, Cassie received dual degrees in animal science livestock merchandising and agricultural communications, giving her a harmonized understanding of both agriculture and marketing strategies. With recent studies in England, France, Scotland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, she has gained a greater understanding of the international agricultural prospective as well.

At OSU, her work experience with the livestock youth extension program allowed her to develop key educational tools for today’s youth. Cassie’s work has also included feature writing for some of today’s top livestock magazines including the Hereford World and Limousine World.

Her public relations skills extend into volunteerism, such as serving as one of our nation’s Beef Ambassadors. Cassie takes every chance she can get to attend livestock shows with her family.

Random Acts

Cassie loves the colors pink and orange.
She considers farm work a holiday and takes every chance she can to help with the family Hereford cattle and sheep.
While she enjoys scrapbooking, cooking and sewing, time becomes her most precious resource. There never really is enough of it to go around.
Committed to teaching, she can be found discussing religions with international students, holding women’s life groups and assisting 4-H and FFA members.

Brushes with Greatness

At Ohio State, Cassie was honored as the outstanding animal science student, a top 5 College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources student and a Senior of Significance.
As the past National Polled Hereford Queen, Arkansas Beef Princess and National Junior Hereford Association director, she knows firsthand what it is like to be a spokesperson.
Being a triple judging team member at OSU – meats, livestock and meat animal evaluation – Cassie and her team members garnished numerous awards for their university.
